Property Description: A GREAT PROPERTY IN WESTERN KENTUCKY THAT SETS UP NICE FOR THE BOW OR GUN HUNTER. Christian County ranked third last year for total deer harvest.
A good mix of timber(50 acres), crp(15 acres) and crop fields(85 Acres). There are nice pockets of timber scattered around the property that hold deer. Lots of deer sign scattered throughout the property. Old rubs, scrapes and a couple of big licks. I actually jumped a pretty good 8pt. while walking this property. The landowner reports lots of crop damage caused by the deer. Whoever leases this property must be willing to shoot some does.
This property lies on the edge of some really large blocks of timber. I see this property as being a big funnel to the crop fields. These fields are in corn this year and will not be plowed under. All the neighboring corn has already been plowed. There was plenty of "yellow gold" on the ground to hold them for a while. This property should be fantastic during the rut, with several nice funnels and pinches to put your stands in.
There is also turkey hunting opportunities and I saw a good covey of quail while on the property.
There is to be no hunting around the residence on the far north end of the property.
Camping is possible on old homestead area.
Hotels/Motels & restaurants are close by.
