Property Description: 275 acres, 2 ponds, wooded creek, woodlot, CRP, DEER ,TURKEY, UPLAND, and SMALL GAME. If your looking for land to lease in the KS East area then dont' overlook this tract. It's a great location within a short drive of McPherson, Newton, Wichita and Hutchison KS.

The aerial data layer doesn�t quite authenticate the quality cover on this farm. With Sharps Creeks flowing through the farm, CRP, timber, including an unbroken canopy of hedge and cedar trees in the northeast corner, and a couple of nice ponds, this place is quite appealing.
If you�re looking deer, this farm has good overhead cover in the cedars and hedge trees, which will protect deer during the worst winter weather. The CRP is classic �edge� habitat, providing safe travel lanes and resting areas outside of the woodlot, especially during warm fall days. The wheat, which remains is an excellent attractant after the native vegetation is dormant. And, the hedge rows on the perimeter provide ingress and egress routes and security during daily foraging. I did jump as nice 10 point out of the area that is documented in photo four in the property description. Unfortunately, I didn�t get him on camera.
As far as Turkeys go, just look at the third photo. The turkeys have had quite an impact on the wheat. Check out the ponds photos also, Kansas farm ponds are normally excellent fishery especially for pan fish and some bass fishing. Crappie, Bluegill, Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass and possibly some others.
The CRP is excellent quality as evidenced by the dense stand of warm season grasses such as Indian and little bluestem. The CRP hosts numerous pheasant roosts. Look to this area, especially as the weather gets colder. The pasture, which wasn't over grazed, will most likely host some Prairie Chickens.
